I do find it strange when The Style Council are still battered in 2014, just for being The Style Council. I was 13 in 1983, Long Hot Summer it was. Think of the Style Council’s career as the pop equivalent of a semester. I have been interested in The Style Council going back as far as my musical memory will take me. Weller was inspired by Tadeusz Borowskis This Way for the Gas, Ladies and Gentleman, a book about experiences in concentration camps like Auschwitz and Dachau.
